Autodesk Alias® (formerly known as Alias StudioTools) is a family of computer-aided industrial design products starting with Alias Design as the entry-level conceptual design system, progressing to Alias Surface, and then to Alias Automotive as the top-of-the-line product with all of the options. Alias industrial design and Class-A surfacing software provides sketching, concept modeling, surfacing, and visualization tools for industrial, product, and automotive design.

During Modeling and Design activities Alias will not take advantage of many CPU cores. The best performance for such tasks is achieved with the fastest top core speed. The Intel® i7 and i9 are favored to the XEON® CPU delivering the best performance/price ratio. Inventor rendering will take full advantage of multiple cores and hyper thread capabilities. The i7-13700KF currently represents the optimal value with 8 Performance-cores + 8 Efficient-cores and 24 Threads with a high Turbo Boost clock spread. @Xi also provides professionally overclock versions, favoring an absolute top core or all cores at higher frequency to deliver optimal balanced Design and Rendering Alias performance. Autodesk certification is mainly for NVIDIA RTX™ (previously Quadro) Professional Graphics, however GeForce RTX™ video cards provide a better performance/price ratio due to the DirectX 11 optimized architecture used by Alias. @Xi is supporting both Quadro and GeForce video cards use with Alias, a VR Ready video card recommended for Alias Surface and Automotive. SSD drives are a must and faster NVMe M.2 recommended when dealing with big drawings.
